Larissa is so wonderful! She always takes time to listen, make suggestions, find new treatments to try, explain all my options and follow my pain management! She and the whole staff from front to back are so cheerful, friendly and professional all the time! I will gladly recommend them to anyone needing help managing their pain! Thank you all so much!!

Dr Whitten always takes good care of me, explains what he is going to do, reviews why we are trying this procedure and what results to expect. My mother has been going here for almost two years trying to manage her pain with her rheumatoid arthritis. My father, brother and I have accompanied her many of her appointments here since she started going and has gotten six injections since and has expressed to me numerous times that they don’t work! She recently learned that she has a torn labrum in her left hip and needed an MRI. When she went to go get her MRI they said it was a lumbar one which was incorrect. My mother has gotten two lumber MRIs in a year and needs a hip one! When she discussed this with her PA she said that she will get her one. She got a call today for ANOTHER lumbar MRI. Her PA told her at her that the hip one wasn’t approved by insurance, which was not true. We live three hours away and spend a lot of time driving to appointments. I would not recommend this place at all!

I normally see Bethany Lambert. On my way to my appointment this morning, I was called by Crystal to say that I would be seeing Jennelea as Bethany was out sick. I was taken back to my exam room and waited almost 10 minutes past my appointment time before Jennelea came into the room. The exam started by me showing her where my pain was, just as if it was a first appointment. Once this was completed, the results of the recent MRI were discussed, with clearly a change in one area of my lower back. It was at this time, Jennelea went into discussing injections and she also asked me if surgical options had been discussed. When I advised that this had not been discussed, she again went through other treatment options which involved injections. On at least 3 occasions, I indicated to Jennelea that I did not want injections, and that I just wanted my pain to be better managed. As I was becoming frustrated, Jennelea stated that she didn't need to be yelled at. I said something to the effect of "why should I keep coming back here if you're not going to manage my pain?" Jennelea stated in a very rough tone "It's because Bethany refills your medications". I looked at her and stated "Which aren't working!" Clearly this was not going to be resolved as Jennelea was more focused on injections and other suggestions as opposed to helping me manage my pain. I got up, walked out of the exam room, and stated that I would be getting in contact with my attorney as this clearly is a situation that needs to be addressed publicly. By the time I got home, I had learned that I was no longer allowed into the office for any reason, even to assist my disabled wife. I am quite confident, that had I been able to see Bethany, this situation would have been resolved differently. Also, I did not appreciate the attitude that I received from this PA. I am the patient, therefore, my appointment and insurance pay your salary. The attitude in which I was treated only caused me to become more upset. But that's alright. I will do everything... and I mean EVERYTHING to expose NPI for the poor service that I received, and that I am sure other patients have received.

Larissa is amazing!!! She listens to my concerns about my care and make appropriate suggestions for treatment. This is the 3rd pain specialist I have been to and they really know what they are doing. I have gotten more help for my back pain in the past 6 months then I have in years. Thank you Larissa and Dr Spurgeon.

Dr Whitten is very good of what he does and he keeps you informed with what's going on and what's going to be the next step to do he don't leave you in a lumbar of knowing what is going to take place

Dr. Whitten is great! He is knowledgeable and does a great job taking care of my pain needs. I always feel very well taken care of when I see him. Besides any doctor that wears cowboy boots with scrubs is awesome in my book!
